The Most Iconic Met Gala Sunglasses Looks Of 2024

The Most Iconic Met Gala Sunglasses Looks Of 2024

Once again, the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art have been graced by the glittering 2024 Met Gala looks, a shining example of the timeless power of fashion. This year, with their Met Gala sunglasses, the celebrities lived up to the theme of "The Garden of Time," which promised a historical fashion trip. Sunglasses, a more understated accessory, stole the show above the captivating gowns and dramatic ensembles. We got to see celebrities like Chris Hemsworth, Sebastian Stan, Tom Ford and many more rocking sunglasses in sensational styles.

At the Met Gala, sunglasses are more than just a way to block out the harsh rays of sun or the city lights—they're a well-considered fashion statement for the sophisticated admirer. This year's selection displayed a genuine artistic ability in eyewear, fusing audacious experimentation with evergreen charm.

The Met Gala Sunglasses Looks Of 2024
Bad Bunny

Puerto Rican musician Bad Bunny is known well for his unpredictable fashion choices. Whether it’s a see through shirt or heavy printed jacket, he knows how to keep the audience entertained. On this year's red carpet, Bad Bunny arrived in an eye-catching suit, hat and a bouquet all made with the same fabric material full of references that connected the character Count Axe- from the short story that inspired the theme to his heritage.

Bad Bunny sunglasses were especially tough to ignore, the interesting architectural diamond shaped glasses with a rustic gold frame brought a sense of whimsy to his attire (it’s not his first pair of avant-garde sunglasses, and we dare say it’s not the last!)

Chris Hemsworth

As a co-chair at the 2024 Met Gala alongside Zendaya, Bad Bunny, and Jennifer Lopez, Chris Hemsworth arrived in a dashing Ivory three-suit ensemble. For us it’s Chris Hemsworth sunglasses the stole the show. Chris arrived at the red carpet along with his wife Elsa Pataky and spoke about just how excited he was by this year’s event.

While Chris set off some controversy at the Met Gala for his social media selfies in his suit and sunglasses, it was all well received by the end. His striking aviators complement his outfit well and remind us of our Woke Bro - Retro Square Sunglasses

Tom Ford

With somebody like Tom Ford with a luxury line of his own, you’d think he would wear his own design, strangely enough he was dressed by the creative head of Saint Laurent, Anthony Vaccarello.

The designer and filmmaker wore a classic red velvet dinner jacket paired with square shaped sunglasses, but if you look closely enough you will discover that he also held another pair of sunglasses in his hands. The sunglasses Tom Ford carried showcased his influence by highlighting emerging independent hand-crafted eyewear designers of today.

Sebastian Stan

For a man that’s been on the Met Gala carpet a few times by now, there’s definitely an evolution in Sebastian Stan Met Gala looks. He may have begun this glamorous red carpet journey in classic outfits but as the years have passed, he has experimented quite a lot–which invited a frenzy of hilarious memes.

But Sebastian stan memes aside, last year’s All-Pink outfit may have seemed Barbie-esque at first, although upon closer look the significance of magenta made it a lot close to the 2022 Met Gala theme ‘Gilded age’. This was the invention of the very shade of pink. And whether it’s the magenta look or this black grungy one, he hasn’t forgotten elevating his look with his sunglasses! This year Sebastian wore shades that gave us the vibes of our Delulah sunglasses.

Jeff Goldblum

The iconic man Jeff Golblum was a triumph of the Met Gala red carpet, his outfit was as charming as the poetry that he recited impromptu while being interviewed on at the event! Jeff said that he is not afraid of accessorising and went all in to directly reference the theme. The accessory consisted of gorgeous flower shaped diamond brooches along with a green round sunnies he wore, and one his pocket side –-It really was the year of double sunglasses at this year’s Met Gala fashion it seems…after all why just have one pair of sunglasses when you can have more!

Ben Simmons

The Australian basketball player Ben Simmons walked the carpet this year, and reminded us just why Met Gala looks are all about creative interpretations. His outfit, if not completely, does for sure match the point of the event well with his outrageous accessorising— his clock briefcase and his shinny red sunglasses.

Ben’s outfit was a part of the 2024 Met Gala’s theme derived from the Costume institute exhibition at Met called ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’. Even though fashion gurus were on the verge of his look, they all agreed that his sunglasses and clock briefcase combo was the real deal.

Luca Guadagnino

The Call Me By Your Name and newly released Challengers director Luca Guadagnino walked in the Met Gala amongst his cast of actors Zendaya, Mike Faist, and Josh O’Connor, and together they served up winning looks. Of course, for Luca his sunglasses did most of the work. Luca seems to enjoy himself as the chill cinematic guy on the carpet and our Dune-law-flip sunglasses write up his alley of glamorous fashion.

Adam Mosseri

Met Gala is big fan of fashionable eyewear just as it is of the clothing, and though we get a ton of noteworthy sunglasses moments every year ( There’s always an Anna Wintour sunglasses look ), eyeglasses are a bit overlooked. Fortunately it was great to see Head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri walk in wearing a dapper suit embellished with accessories and classic black eyeglasses to go with it!

We thoroughly enjoyed this fantastic display of eyewear at this year’s Met gala and we hope you enjoyed it a lot too. This yearly event is a great glimpse into the world of the ever-evolving fashion of luxury eyewear. From the classic old-money to futuristic designs, every pair was a great reminder of the transformatory power eyewear holds.
